Phonics Time

Phonics lessons are a very important part of our Writing programme.
As I get more confident I try tricker things. In this photo I listened to a dictated sentence and then tried to write down what I heard and put in the correct punctuation.

" I got to remember capital letters at the the start and a full stop at the end."

Rocket ship

We have been learning about the solar system this term.  We made a rocket with paper and a straw then blew through the straw to see how far our rocket would travel.

Measuring Fun

During Maths Week we did Pirate Maths! One of the activities was to learn to use different standard and non-standard units for measuring with. We were learning to have an accurate starting and finishing point when we measure.

"We are measuring the ground. We were making a pirate ship."

Maths Fun

Owl Babies

We are learning to publish our writing for an audience, because we are authors. In Room 3 we try to present our work in many different and interesting ways to encourage people to come and read our fabulous stories!

" I am proud of the eyes because the circles are nice. I did good cutting."

Matariki

Our classroom celebrated Matariki, which is the Maori New Year. We came to school in our pyjamas and had a yummy breakfast together! It is great to share time with our whanau.

"I forgot, but I still had breakfast. I ate all the toast because I was hungry. The milo was yum with the marshmallows."
